Nice! Love the shot of the bombers flying over the modern apartment blocks!
I’m working my way through letters my father wrote to his parents when he first went to sea in 1939. He had expected to be away for six months, but after the war broke out, was away for 6 years. I’m wondering whether to send the letters to the Dutch War Archive, whose slogan is “Don’t throw it away!”. A few mentions in the letters of the war, but more frequently complaints about the food on board…
Cheers,
Stuart.
ps planning a trip to Scotland and Italy next year and hope to finally see some of the places Simon Shama referred to in Landscape and Memory, like Piazza Navona and the canals of Venice. Have never been to Italy, so really looking forward to it.
